Cost of transporting bedridden patients: how is the price calculated?
If you are looking for a reliable service to transport bedridden patients, it is important to understand how the price is formed. We offer a transparent pricing system that takes into account the distance, time, patient weight and additional conditions. Below we explain in detail what makes up the cost of transporting a bedridden patient so that you can plan your budget in advance.
Main factors affecting the cost of transport
1. Vehicle dispatch
Every order starts with the dispatch of specialized transport. The cost of this service is 3500 rubles.
2. Transport distance
- Within the MKAD ring road: the distance is calculated from the pick-up point to the destination without any surcharges.
- Beyond the MKAD ring road (up to 50 km): the price increases by 1000 rubles.
- Beyond the MKAD ring road (from 50 to 100 km): a surcharge of 1500 rubles.
- Over 100 km beyond the MKAD ring road: a surcharge of 2000 rubles.
Calculation example: transport from the Moscow region (70 km beyond the MKAD ring road) to a clinic in Moscow. Price = (distance from the MKAD ring road to the patient + from the patient to the destination) × 70 RUB + 1500 RUB.
3. Transport time
- Daytime (8:00–20:00): standard cost.
- Night time (20:00–8:00) and Friday after 18:00: an extra 1000 rubles for night time.
4. Patient weight
The heavier the patient, the more complex the transport. Additional charges:
- Over 90 kg — +500 RUB,
- Over 100 kg — +1000 RUB,
- Over 110 kg — +1500 RUB,
- Over 120 kg — the price is agreed individually.
5. Lifting/lowering between floors
If the elevator cannot be used, the cost depends on the method of transport:
- On a chair stretcher — 250 RUB/floor,
- On a flat stretcher — 350 RUB/floor.
6. Crew waiting time
If the patient is not ready for loading for more than 15 minutes, a fee is charged: 500 rubles for every 15 minutes of waiting.
7. Round trip with waiting and escort
The first hour of waiting is free. After that, 500 rubles for every 30 minutes.
Example of calculating the final cost
Suppose you need to transport a patient weighing 95 kg from an apartment on the 3rd floor (no elevator) within the MKAD ring road at 21:00.
- Vehicle dispatch: 3500 RUB.
- Distance: 15 km × 70 RUB = 1050 RUB.
- Night time: +1000 RUB.
- Weight: +500 RUB.
- Lifting on a flat stretcher: 3 floors × 350 RUB = 1050 RUB.
Total: 3500 + 1050 + 1000 + 500 + 1050 = 7100 rubles.
